Great little village with heaps to do and great Farmers' Market. We hired ebikes to do the bike trail from Matakana to Omaha Beach, stopping of at the incredible Sculptureum and then Farmer's Daughter for lunch. Drinks at #8 Wired cellar door and dinner at Sawmill Smoko Room, breakfast treats and fantastic coffee from Ringawera Bakery, and brunch at Market Kitchen... and that was just 2 days' worth!

Great little shops, cafes and restaurants. A short drive from the town and you find yourselves in Tawharanui Regional Park - a sanctuary for native birds, with walking tracks and lovely beaches. We stayed there for a night en route from Tauranga to Bay of Islands - and would definitely visit again.

Beautiful village with lots of eating places. We loved the Farmers Market especially the lovely fresh food on sale at the market. Iconic toilets. Close to Sculptarium and Reptile Park. Surrounded by beautiful beaches about 20 minutes away from Matakana Village.
